Happy Morning!

This might be the finest advertising jingle ever!

I love it.

Paul Revere and Madonna

I suppose it's ok to make it "official" now.

I'm heading to Boston in a couple of weeks to see Mommy Madonna on tour.

I've got to tell you...I never thought I'd be able to see her in concert. I'll never forget when my ex-friends, Jeff & Tri, went to see her with some tickets that somebody gave them and they seemed so underwhelmed by the concert (Drowned World).

I simply couldn't believe their lack of enthusiasm...I mean, this is Madonna we are talking about here. In fact, once I was finally able to see that concert via DVD, I declared "Drowned World" as the best concert ever.

That's the joy of Momma Madonna. She keeps topping herself.

SIDEBAR: I'd really love to see Madonna ACTUALLY top herself, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, of my closest friends who lives diagonally on the other side of the USA went on to fuel my "I'll never get to see Madonna in concert whining" when he was able to go see Madonna two-nights-in-a-row for the Re-invention Tour.

Two nights -- WITH incredible seats.

His photos made me green with envy, as it look like she was in his living room on a bar stool with a guitar -- with better lighting.

I was happy for him. I really was. It was exciting to hear someone who finally enjoyed the experience of seeing her in concert AND was so happy about it. I was able to live vicariously though him.

Now, the tables have turned.

Brian isn't able to go. He has made me the sacrificial lamb and has graciously given me the opportunity to head to Boston to pop my Madonna cherry.

I refuse to wear a rubber.

I want every bit of her delicious amazingness to seep into every pore on my body.

I want Brian to be as happy for me as I was for him.

I only hope I don't let him down.

I'm doing a wham-bam trip to Boston for this concert.

Fly the hotel the TD Banknorth Center...then who knows or who cares.

I probably should spend an extra day to truly sight-see in Boston, but I honestly don't care.

After the concert, I'm most likely going back to the hotel and to bed. I don't want to visit some crappy Boston bars and allow some preening bitchy fags to ruin my night of bliss.

I'll be bcak in Orlando by 3:30pm the following day.

Pray for me...

...I'm working on my confessions.

A dilemma?

My dear friend Brian worships Madonna. Rarely a week goes by without him sending out an update email as to the latest on dear ol' Madge.

He purchased two prime tickets to see her in Boston on July 6th.

Poor Brian has an unfortunate health problem that is prohibiting him from flying to see the concert and has graciously offered the tickets to me.

I want them. Badly.

Here's the dilemma:
  • Who goes with me on such short notice? (Beny will be visiting his family in Singapore and Malaysia.)
  • What the heck do I do with my dog? (I can't handle flying solo and dealing with the dog for the trip.)

I've got a bunch of ducks I need to get in a row before I can commit to going on this trip.

They say that where there is a will, there's a way (Brittney even said that in her interview last night...)

Anyway, my day is going to be filled with scrabling and phone calls. I have got to try to make this trip happen.

If not for me...for Brian, too. I owe it to him for being such a wonderful and gracious friend.

Stay tuned!

Secrets and Lies only lead to catastrophe.

Jumbled thoughts...

  • Couldn't you almost hear Oprah screaming "Racism!" in the audience at the Tony Awards last night? The Color Purple didn't score much of anything...with the exception of the stellar LaChanze, who continues to ease me into work many mornings in my car.
  • I'm on day three of some strange laryngitis. Don't know why I have it, but I'm calling it a blessing as I just emailed all of my co-workers and advised them that I plan to keep my talking at a minimum.
  • Went to Sea World on Saturday with the express purpose of seeing 'Believe' and to ride the new 'Shamu Express'. As the ominous rain clouds approached, I had to skip out of the park missing both. Oh well, at least I was able to get a ride on the Sky Tower (I always love the Sky Tower).
  • Saw 'A Prairie Home Companion' yesterday. This is a GREAT film. Go see it! Some good laughs in there, too!
  • No, really...GO SEE IT!!
  • The performances of 'the Pajama Game', 'the Wedding Singer', and 'the Drowsy Chapperone' were so full of energy and fun that I was laughing my ass off. THIS is why I wish I lived in NYC! The touring productions of shows are decent as they blow through OrBLANDo, but nothing can compare to the talent on Broadway -- hell, even Julia Roberts knows it.
  • Had some Dim Sum for lunch yesterday at Ming Court. I've been there numerous times, an operation this restaurant is.
  • I hate watching my boyfriend eat Chicken Feet. I just can't attempt to eat that.
  • Tropical Depression/Storm Alberto is going to be blowing through Florida today. It's NOTHING major, yet the stupid fuckheads at 'Local 6' felt that they need to split-screen my giant TV last night to show the "important" coordinates. Whatever.
  • Jeez...wait until you hear "the penguin joke". It's hilarious and nobody knows why.
  • Amazingly, I'm not "craving" any particular food item today. Odd.
  • I can't believe he's still the President. CLinton was almost kicked out for getting a 'hummer'. Simply unreal.
  • I just realized that I'm working with an office full of mostly women today...good thing or a bad thing...I'll never tell...
  • I want to have an 18-year-old "houseboy". How the hell do you get one of those? Beny has agreed to it. We just can't find one (or a good one, at least).
  • Lewis Black's new HBO special was "ok"...but, he was spot-on with his comments about how society treats "the gays".
  • Take a moment to "look what God has done..."
  • Peace.

Ha! Ha!

Take THAT! Republicans with agendas...

...and to think THEY say that there is a 'Gay Agenda'. Unreal. My only agenda is to not feel like a second class citizen and to have the same rights as the rest of this "Free" (bullshit) country of ours.

Here's the result:

Gay Marriage Ban Defeated In Senate
June 7, 2006 11:16 a.m. EST
Jacob Cherian - All Headline News Contributor

Washington D.C. (AHN) - A constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage was defeated in the Senate Wednesday.

However, supporters said that several new votes for the measure represent progress, which gives the GOP's base reason to vote on Election Day.
Associated Press reports supporters failed to get the 60 votes required for the measure to survive a test vote.

Had it survived, a two-thirds majority in both houses of Congress would have been required to send an amendment to the states. It then would have had to be ratified by at least 38 state legislatures.

Those who supported a ban on gay marriage took comfort in the fact that the idea received several new votes from Republican newcomers elected after the amendment received its last vote in 2004.

Well, bully for them. Pricks.
